Happy Fall Friends. During the pandemic my friend suggested I use substack for news letters but my booking software links with mail chimp so I’ve had 2 ways to share. I’ve decided to use the Mail Chimp to share my office availability exclusively and will use this platform for Wellness and Woo. I do appreciate your being here but if you are only interested in one or both or none, you know what to do!
MEDITATION GIFT
My friend Jacob helped me record an updated version of Louise Hay’s AM & PM meditations that I’ve always really enjoyed. You can find them HERE to listen or download on soundcloud. Let me know what you think!
FALL WELLNESS
Happy Autumn! We have the Equinox on the 22nd followed by a new moon in Libra on the 25th. Libra is represented by the scales and is associated with finding balance and the equinox is when the earth is balanced between light and dark. This is a wonderful time to pay attention to if you are feeling balanced in your life.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine Autumn is associated with the Lung and Large Intestine. In addition to all the physical and biological functions of these organs it is helpful to look at what they represent energetically. Lung is about taking in, inspiration. What inspires you? The lungs and the Large Intestines both help you let go. What do you need to let go of?
It's wise to support your Lung and Large Intestine health during this time to prevent illness and be as well as possible heading toward the winter.
· Give your guts a break: Eat very clean for a few days days. Be conscious of your gut health. I like to do the Master Cleanse or a simple mono diet (i.e. Kitchari ), grape cleanse or an elimination diet can be a great way to give your digestion a break. This is about feeling good so listen to your guts and help your Large Intestine let go of anything you don’t need.
· Charge your space: Like spring cleaning, Autumn is an important time to clean your space. Get the cobwebs out. Burn, clean and tend alters and get your space as comfy as possible for the cooler days ahead.
· Breath Work: Take some deep breaths as you become aware of what you are harvesting now. Do a breath of fire. Take equal inhales and exhales. Check YouTube or follow @brianapharos on in Instagram for more ideas and classes. Just consciously taking deep breaths, fill up your full lungs is a great wellness practice.
After some cleansing it is time to start eating more building foods to keep our bodies nourished during the winter months but remaining active in our bodies in ways that feel good. Get some bodywork if you can, it supports your lymph system, the part of you that fights intruders. We begin to slow down: As it gets darker, it’s time to turn from the outward into the inward. Resting is an important part of wellness too!
